Banquet Set-Up Lead

Position: Banquet Set-Up Lead

Reports to: Director of Catering Operations

Job Type: Full-Time Non-Exempt

Southall Farm & Inn is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way. The Banquet Set-Up Lead is responsible for overseeing the Banquet setup team to ensure the cleanliness, safety and aesthetic appeal of banquet rooms and functions, and the optimal dining experience of all banquet functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily activities of the Banquet Set Up Team, acting as shift supervisor.
  • To act to ensure guest satisfaction with setup of banquet events, including previewing all banquet event orders to ensure team is prepared and event is set up to guests’ specifications
  • To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • To make the Director of Catering Operations aware of all guest comments and challenges.
  • To verify with the Banquet Captain that room is set up to their satisfaction.
  • To assign side-work and breakdown duties to banquet setup personnel.
  • To maintain the proper care and cleanliness of tableware and serving equipment, handling both to minimize breakage.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards and excellent condition of equipment and surrounding work areas
  • To check all banquet rooms daily and to immediately report any maintenance problem to the Engineering Department.
  • To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
  • To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
  • Report all guest request changes to Banquet Captain and Manager
  • Attend all required meeting when assigned.
  • Assure that all equipment is kept in clean working condition

Skills and Experience

  • Previous Banquet Setup experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Education and Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 lbs
  • Available to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays
  • Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods as needed and able to work in all weather conditions
  • Constantly moving between in and outdoor environment, throughout shift.
