Position: IT/AV Technician

Position Description
Southall Farm & Inn is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT/AV Technician to join our team. The IT/AV Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day support of all IT systems, providing front-line support for the following: business systems, office systems, computer networks and telephone systems throughout the property. The IT/AV Technician will work closely with staff and guests to troubleshoot and resolve basic IT solutions, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the company’s IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Responsible for delivering the highest quality of IT/AV support to all Southall guests and internal team members
Timely support, troubleshooting and escalation of IT/AV issues to full resolution including:
TV, Sound and AV Lighting Systems
Collaborative meeting room equipment including touch screen monitors, microphones, speakerphones, projection, and other audio-visual equipment
IT Hardware PCs, laptops, terminals, and tablets
Internal business applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook and related applications, Resort Suite (PMS & POS), Adobe and others
Ensures cleanliness of all data equipment and computer rooms
Assist with IT inventory management, ensuring accurate records of hardware and software assets
Setup and support of pop-up events including use of IT/AV equipment
Responsible for smooth functioning and co-ordination of vendors for Guest Internet, Property Management Systems-PMS, Point of Sale -POS, IPTV, Telephone systems and other software vendors
Responsible for overseeing and handling network configuration, Servers, Workstations, Networking equipment, PBX, email accounts, and support for the underlying server/desktop infrastructure
Coordinates with IT Director in the establishment of project scope, technical strategy, cost, budget and staff support requirements with new IT initiatives
Prepares Southall Operating Criteria for the IT Department
Anti-virus setup and daily support
Identifies and implements solutions to user challenges and concerns associated with personal computer equipment.
Ensure that policies and procedures relating to PCI compliance are updated.
Partners with Third Party IT Support Provider to provide further support to the Southall guests and team members.
Able to perform other IT/AV or Systems related tasks assigned by the management.
Skills and Experience
1-2 years of Hotel/Resort IT/AV Experience strongly preferred
Strong customer service orientation and the ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism
Must know the Network fundamentals, general network setup and device configuration (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Knowledge of server hardware, Disk storage technology, I/O devices.
Skilled in usage of system level profiling tools and network monitoring systems to aid in application performance profiling
Knowledge of network infrastructure, including CAT5/6 cabling, wireless networks, network switches, WAN/LAN, domain controller, Active Directory, firewalls, and VPN applications.
Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Management, and Implementations
Excellent verbal and written communications, networking, and presentation skills (in English)
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
The role requires on-site presence at our facility
Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent team skills, including but not limited to, listening, coaching, guiding, flexible working, adaptability, collaboration, and facilitation
Excellent communication skills, including but not limited to, listening, asking questions, building consensus, presenting, obtaining buy-in
The position may require lifting and moving IT equipment, which can weigh up to 50 pounds
Education
Degree or diploma in Information Technology field highly preferred
Microsoft certifications: MCSA, MCTS or MCITP for Windows Server, MCDST for workstations.
Applicable certifications preferred: Security+, Network+, Project+, A+, Cloud+, CCNA
