Position Description

Southall is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way. The People & Culture Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the Human Resources Function at Southall, including Recruiting, Onboarding, Benefits Administration, and Training and Development.

Responsibilities

  • The People & Culture Generalist will support the responsibilities of the People & Culture (HR) office, including Recruiting, Onboarding, Benefits Administration and Training and Development
  • Helps to facilitate an organized and efficient office environment that provides meaningful support to leaders and team members
  • Coordinating with departmental hiring managers, assists in managing the recruiting process flow among the resort’s departments
  • Posts positions through internal Applicant Tracking Systems as well as internally
  • Conducts Pre-Screening interviews with candidates
  • Coordinates with candidates and hiring managers to schedule follow up interviews
  • Completes initial reference checks on candidates
  • Assists with Job Fairs and other candidate outreach opportunities
  • Supervises initial onboarding tasks for new hires, including pre-employment forms, systems access and documentation
  • Coordinates with candidates, departmental leaders and People & Learning Coach to schedule orientation and invite required new hires
  • Assists in assessing team member satisfaction with benefit plans through pulse surveys and other avenues
  • Assists People & Learning Coach with the execution of resort-wide training plan tracking and follow up
  • Tracks and monitors compliance related items such as ABC Cards, EEO Reporting, OSHA reporting, and other internal items as needed
  • Interacts with managers and team members to answer questions and clarify policies and procedures
  • Acts as a Cultural Ambassador at all times, providing our team with the highest levels of support and assistance
  • Encourages team member engagement through our different team member recognition programs
  • Provides clerical support to Executive Director of People & Culture and Assistant Director of People & Culture
  • Completes other duties as assigned by Director of People & Culture and Assistant Director of People & Culture

Skills and Experience

  • 1-2 years Human Resources experience in a luxury hotel or resort environment preferred
  • Previous HR (or a related field) experience strongly preferred
  • Hotel/Resort opening experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members in a friendly and positive manner
  • Ability to listen, speak and write English to ascertain and respond to team member needs.

Education & Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Business Management preferred.
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds with frequent lifting and or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Requires walking and or standing ocassionally
